Comprehensions (Inference)

£8.00

The resource is structured in two main parts.

Part 1 contains short passages followed by inference questions. Some questions ask pupils to circle all answers that are supported by the text and underline the clues that helped them. Others ask pupils to choose the best-supported answer or write a short explanation. Topics include an archaeological chamber, a poetry competition, an old theatre, a canal restoration, a library reopening and harbour volunteers.

Part 2 contains longer comprehension pieces and a poem, including “The Museum of Almost Useful Things,” “The Last Light in the Window” and “The Empty Seat”. These tasks ask pupils to infer character feelings, motivations, symbolism, implied meaning and whether statements are supported by evidence.
