Developing Vocabulary Through Inference (1) Term 3

The activities in this resource are designed to develop and assess both vocabulary and inference skills, which are essential for success in the SEAG Entrance Assessment.

The resource is structured over seven weeks, with seven questions per week. This allows pupils to practise the same core skills regularly, while working with different vocabulary each week.

The question formats remain consistent throughout the seven weeks (for example, Question 1 follows the same structure each week, Question 2 follows the same structure, and so on), while the vocabulary changes. This ensures that pupils focus on inferring meaning and applying understanding, rather than simply becoming familiar with a particular question style.

Although the vocabulary included in this resource is challenging, the level of difficulty increases further in the Vocabulary and Inference Questions Booklets available alongside the SEAG Summer Pack, Autumn Pack and Halloween Pack. These booklets follow the exact same format as this resource while introducing more demanding vocabulary to further stretch and challenge pupils.
