What is included?

Comprehension: There are four comprehension exercises designed with a format and layout similar to the SEAG exam. The difficulty level has been tailored to align with the ability of a primary 5 student. The four types of comprehension exercises include:

  • Narrative
  • Biography
  • Recount
  • Poem

 

Spelling: Four spelling exercises covering words taught in primary 5. These exercises include:

  • Filling in the blanks
  • Selecting the correctly spelt word
  • Identifying spelling mistakes
  • Correct spelling errors.

Grammar, spelling, vocabulary and word relationships: Exercises are provided for the following concepts.

  1. Homophones
  2. Contractions
  3. Compound Words
  4. Past and Present Tense
  5. SynonymS
  6. Antonyms
  7. Prefixes
  8. Suffixes
  9. Alphabetical Order
  10. Rhyming Words

    I like the explanation box at the top of each page. Interested to know why nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs haven’t been included?

      Parts of speech haven’t been incorporated in this booklet; they will be covered in a separate booklet to be completed in the coming weeks. Creating a dedicated resource for these literacy elements is essential.
