What’s included?

This resource offers various activities aimed at keeping students engaged throughout the summer break. Studies indicate that students who stay active academically during the summer months tend to perform better overall, as they retain more of what they’ve learned.

This Pack for the End of P4 contains a total of three booklets.

Booklet One (Comprehensions)
Booklet one contains eight comprehensions including a range of genres. I have included a range of question styles similar to those in the SEAG exam but tailored to the end of P4 ability level. The aim is to begin to introduce students to this style of questions. Areas covered include parts of speech (verbs, adjectives etc), word meaning, rhyming words, alphabetical order, synonyms and antonyms, suffix.

Booklet Two (Grammar, Vocabulary, Spelling)
Booklet two includes 15 exercises that assess students understanding of various spelling, grammar and vocabulary rules. This booklet includes tasks based on alphabetical order, opposites, similar meanings, compound words, nouns, verbs, adjectives, contractions, spot the spelling mistakes (x5).

Booklet Three
Booklet three covers numeracy concepts taught throughout the P4 year. The topics assessed include addition (using the column method), subtraction (using the column method), addition and subtraction (word problems), multiplication (using repeated addition, multiplication wheel, and speed tests for 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, and 10x tables, as well as mixed), multiplication word problems, introduction to division, fractions (including shading parts and identifying fractions), finding a fraction of an amount, time (using analogue and digital clocks), and 2D and 3D shapes.

Please be aware that, based on recent feedback, not all answers are provided in the numeracy booklet to reduce printing. Activities without answers are straightforward and can be easily corrected by a parent or teacher.
