This comprehension booklet includes eight texts that span various genres, including poems, fiction, non-fiction, informational pieces, and recounts. In some texts, children will encounter numbered lines where they are prompted to find information, such as ‘In line 3 find a word that means the same as….’ Other texts lack numbered lines but will still require children to locate information, for instance, ‘in line 6 find a word opposite in meaning to….’ This approach ensures that children are prepared for this section of the SEAG exam. Every text is accompanied by both multiple-choice and free-response questions, mirroring the format found in the SEAG exam. The texts included in this package for Primary 6 students are intentionally shorter compared to those in our Primary 7 Comprehension texts, and they come with a reduced number of questions. This strategy is implemented to gradually prepare children for the heightened difficulty level of comprehension set by SEAG.
