Within the Term 3 booklet, there is a range of literacy and numeracy tasks that are typically taught during this term. Please note that the numeracy section is quite heavy on fractions, percentages and decimals, which can be challenging topics at this time of year.

Numeracy Booklet 

This booklet helps pupils practise key maths concepts and vocabulary that commonly appear in the SEAG exam, including topics such as number, fractions, percentages, measurement, geometry and data handling. It also develops problem-solving skills through exam-style word problems and introduces the CUBES strategy to help children read questions carefully, identify important information and solve problems with confidence.

Comprehensions: Fiction & Non-fiction Texts

This booklet contains eight comprehension passages, including both fiction and non-fiction texts. The passages are longer than those in the Classic Comprehension booklet released alongside the Term 2 Pack; however, they are still shorter than the texts typically used in the SEAG exam.

Developing Vocabulary Through Inference 

The activities in this resource are designed to develop and assess both vocabulary and inference skills, which are essential for success in the SEAG Entrance Assessment. The resource is structured over seven weeks, with seven questions per week. This allows pupils to practise the same core skills regularly, while working with different vocabulary each week. The question formats remain consistent throughout the seven weeks (for example, Question 1 follows the same structure each week, Question 2 follows the same structure and so on), while the vocabulary changes. This ensures that pupils focus on inferring meaning and applying understanding, rather than simply becoming familiar with a particular question style.

Level 3 SEAG-style Practice Papers (x4)

These Level 3 papers are designed to be used during April, May and June and are more challenging than the Level 1 and Level 2 papers available with our Term 2 pack. Each resource is carefully designed to gradually increase in difficulty, ensuring children continue to build confidence and challenge themselves as they progress through the year. The papers included in the SEAG Summer Pack will provide a further step up in difficulty and will reflect the level of challenge we expect in the actual SEAG exam.
